Syed Abidi was born in Pakistan andimmigrated to Canada in 2002. He graduated with honors from DalhousieUniversity with a Bachelor of Commerce and major in Finance in 2017. Syed thenimmediately returned to school to obtain his Juris Doctor from the SchulichSchool of Law. At Schulich, Syed participated in the 2020 Davies Corporate LawMoot, and helped bring Schulich into third place overall in all of Canada, andsecond place for submitted factums. He graduated with his law degree fromSchulich in 2020 and was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2021. Afterpracticing in Halifax, Nova Scotia for 2 years, Syed has since relocated toKanata, Ontario.
Syed has built his practice aroundcorporate and commercial law. He has a passion for corporate governance issuesand contractual negotiation. With his business law background, Syed has astrong understanding of the way business and legal issues can often timesconverge and interact in corporate and commercial matters. His corporate andcommercial law practice includes asset and share transactions, mergers andacquisitions, contract review, and corporate restructurings among othermatters. Syed also has extensive experience in residential real estatetransactions and drafting wills. As a Pakistani-Canadian, Syed is bilingual inboth English and Urdu and is always happy to help his clients get a solutionthat works for them.
Outside of work, Syed is an avid reader andtraveler and has visited over 30 countries. He has a passion for history, philosophy,film and art. He enjoys exploring museums, exercising at the gym, or justfinding a nice spot to read.
