An Ottawa native, John graduated from Carleton University in 1969. He received is LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University in 1972, was called to the Bar in 1974, then returned to Ottawa where he has since built a sterling reputation in the field of corporate law.

With his depth of experience on shareholder rights and governance issues, John is frequently called upon to represent the interests of shareholders in corporate disputes. He regularly represents foreign and domestic corporate clients in the technology sector.


John is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Canadian Bar Association and the County of Carleton Law Association. He is active in the community, volunteering in the service of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute and Carleton University. John also serves on the organizing committee of the Osgoode Classic, an alumni fundraising event that supports student bursaries at his alma mater.
