Tested and true, John Connolly has practiced law in Ontario for more than 36 years. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
John grew up in Ottawa and graduated with a BA from Loyola of Montreal in 1968. After receiving his law degree from Queen's University in 1971, he articled in Toronto and was called to the Bar in 1973.
John began his practise at Honeywell Wotherspoon, a firm that included his father, the late Senator John J. Connolly, PC, QC. In 1978, John became a partner at the firm, which became Lang Michener after a merger in 1990.
Today, John's practise encompasses many aspects of civil litigation. His emphasis is on a wide range of commercial litigation, estate litigation, employment law, estate planning and alternative dispute resolution. His clients include many leading Canadian and international organizations and corporations, charities, foreign governments and a long list of individuals.
He has considerable experience in all of Ontario’s trial and appeal courts, and in the Federal Court and the Supreme Court of Canada. He has also acted as counsel in arbitrations, before administrative tribunals and in alternative dispute resolution processes.
